Yes I know this is from Forza 5. Attempted to drive the same car in 7.
Screw these cars; screw this series. I can’t accelerate in them, I can’t brake in them, and I dang sure can’t turn in them. I had to turn traction and stability control back on, throttle the AI difficulty back a notch, and drive bumper-car style to get through the series.
Also, in the Seeker Championship, 90% of the races were only two laps long, and I’m just not good enough to get to the front from P12 (where they start you) so I was driving like bumper cars most of the time anyway. I’m one series into the next championship, Breakout, and the races were all three or four laps long, which is enough time for me to get to the front without bashing into everyone. But if you see my drivatar, C0NQUES0, be prepared because it’s probably going to hit you in the door at the apex.

Reminds me of the old Grand Prix Legends from about 20 years ago. Damn impossible to drive. I have no idea how they drove those things as fast as they did...

You can make the race’s longer if you go to, I think, the drivatar difficulty option.
I didn’t do the full series with them, but I did the show case event with them. I just braked earlier and softer and was very easy on the throttle and they worked just fine for me.

You can increase the race length in the drivatar difficulty menu. Bumping it up to long gets you races of 7-13 laps. Extra long gives you about twice that.

Very carefully.

As a rule don’t throttle or brake those things unless they are pointed in a straight line.

As a kid it was impossible, but I figured it was due to things like the controls.
But as an adult the idea that people drove glorifed gokarts with peaky 400hp engines on 1960's rubber is still flabbergasting.

I was thinking the same while struggling through.

Thanks, I’ll look for that next time I play.

Someone else said the same. Obviously didn’t know about it. I’ll look for it the next time I play.

I was reciting that to myself in my head, and achieved it with minor success sometimes, but still wasn’t competitive at my normal drivatar difficulty.

This. Plus it gives you more money rewards.

They are very tricky cars. The people who drove them were risking life and limb to pursue their passion. When you hear someone waxing about “the glory days of motorsport” it’s not just nostalgia or hyperbole.

If you enjoy driving those, you’re going to LOVE driving the Formula E cars!
If you have the Mahindra FE car, I have a tune shared that I felt works very well. Search for HMLG 748 to find it.
I can link you to my comment on Reddit where I just listed the open tune settings if you need them as well.

If you run higher difficulties, set the race length from normal to longer. It’ll give you some more time to get those passes done. They can be pretty sketchy to drive, be gentle on the controls and try and hang on.

A lot of the difficulty of Grand Prix Legends came from the unrealistic default setups. The defaults were way to stiff and low compared to the actual real world setups and going to a softer setup made a world of difference in control-ability. Still difficult but manageable.

Gah, the super short races drove me NUTS in Forza 6. I may actually buy 7 now just so I can drive reasonable-length races...

Its a whole other story when you have to control them with a controller and little tactile feedback. I avoid racing the top tier cars in Forza because you can’t even use the fucking clutch. You have to toggle the clutch button like a madman or you do fuck all. no fun.

I believe there is a credit bonus for lengthening the races.
